There will be a no refuse and recycling collection on Thursday November 26th and Friday November 27th due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Residents in the Thursday refuse collection district will have their refuse and recycling collected on Wednesday November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving. Residents in the Friday collection district will have their material collected on Monday November 30th, the first working day after holiday. "This is the fourth year for this Thanksgiving collection schedule," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "This change was very popular with the residents of the Thursday and Friday collection areas who now receive a collection that they did not get under the old system when they had to wait two weeks for collection." Residents should be sure to consult their collection calendars to determine if their recyclables are scheduled for collection Thanksgiving week.
