No Refuse or Recycling Collection Wednesday

Drop Off sites Also Closed

Due to the severe weather the Streets Division has cancelled refuse and recycling collection for Wednesday December 9th. A decision on when material will be collected will be made later today. "We have plow trucks and other vehicles getting stuck all over the city," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "We do not want to add stuck refuse and recycling trucks to our list of concerns." The City of Madison drop off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd and 4602 Sycamore Av are also closed. Theses sites will remain closed until further notice. "Our drop off sites are located at our operations centers," Dreckmann said. "We cannot allow private vehicles into the sites while we are this busy fighting this storm."
