Wednesday's Refuse Will Be Collected Next Week Recycling Pick Up Tomorrow
The Streets Division has canceled refuse collection for people living in the Wednesday refuse collection district. This material will be collected next Wednesday December 16th. Residents who were scheduled to have their recycling picked up today, December 9th, will have their material collected tomorrow. Due to the need to keep snowplowing operations fully staffed, the Streets Division will be unable to provide full collection service in two different collection districts on Thursday or Friday. Therefore we are asking residents in the Wednesday refuse district to wait a week for collection. "Because of the cold temperatures, it should be safe for residents to keep their trash an extra week," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "Because we only collect recycling every other week, we know most residents do not have the capacity to store a month's worth of recycling. That is why we will collect the recycling from Wednesday's area tomorrow." Because we will be doing double recycling collection on Thursday, it is important to have your material out of time, which is 6 a.m.on the east side and 7 a.m. on the west side.
