Traffic Delays Probable, Use Alternate Routes

The Streets Division will be conducting snow removal operations on several streets this week. Snow removal operations will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday continue as late as 2 p.m. Additional snow removal operations for later in the week will be announced as soon as a decision on where the operations will take place. Snow Removal will cause delays for traffic and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. "We need to clear snow in order to widen the traffic lanes and free up parking spaces," George Dreckmann of the Streets Division said. "This operation involves many vehicles and will tie up traffic." The snow removal schedule is as follows. Monday January 26th Jenifer St. from Williamson to S. Baldwin N. Charter from Regent to W. Dayton Emerald from S. Mills to S. Orchard Tuesday January 27th S. Franklin from E. Wilson to E. Washington Harvey from N. Blackhawk to Schmidt Pl. N. Blackhawk from Harvey to University All of Terry Pl. Parking is being temporarily restricted on the sections of the affected streets. Bright orange temporary "No Parking" signs have been posted. Vehicles must be moved by 7 a.m. in the areas where snow removal will take place. Violators will be ticketed and towed.
