
No Refuse or Recycling Collection on Memorial Day
Yard Waste Sites Also Closed on May 31st
There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Monday May 31st because of the Memorial Day holiday. Madison residents who normally have their material collected on Monday should place their material out for collection on Tuesday June 1st. Refuse and recycling will also be collected in Tuesday's districts on the 1st. "Because of the double collection day it is important that residents get their material out early on Tuesday," said Madison Recycling Coordinator George Dreckmann. "East side residents should have their refuse and recycling out at the curb by 6 a.m. and west side residents by 7 a.m." The City of Madison yard waste drop off sites will be open the following hours Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sunday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday Closed The sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd. on the south side, 402 South Point Rd. on the west side and 4602 Sycamore Av. on the east side. "This is the first year that the yard waste drop off sites will be closed on holidays during the summer months," Dreckmann said.
