
Yard Waste Drop Off Sites Open Saturday March 24th
Spring Leaf Collection and Brush Collection Start April 2nd.
This year's unusually warm weather has found thousands of Madison residents out to doing yard work. With that yard works comes yard debris leaves, plant stalks and weeds. The City of Madison yard waste drop off sites will open for the season this Saturday March 24th. "Our yard waste drop off sites will open summer hours on Saturday March 24th," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. Madison's yard waste drop off sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd., 4602 Sycamore Av, and 402 South Point Rd. Starting the 26th the sites will be open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The sites will also be open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. "Right now, our sties at 1501 W. Badger Rd. and 4602 Sycamore Av. are open winter hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.," Dreckmann said. "The South Point Rd. site is closed until the 24th." The spring leaf and yard waste collection and regular season brush collection will both begin on Monday April 2nd. The Streets Division does have crews out collecting both brush and yard waste and will continue to do so if the weather continues to cooperate.
