Senior / Disabled Fare Eligibility
A reduced fare is available for senior citizens 65 years and older, and people with disabilities. Proof of eligibility may be requested by your driver.
Riders are encouraged to apply for a Metro reduced fare permit for eligibility. To request a paper application, please call (608) 266‑4904.
Seniors
To qualify for a reduced fare permit you must show proof that you are 65. Acceptable forms of proof include:
- Valid Driver’s License / Wisconsin ID
- Medicare Card
- Birth Certificate
- Metro Senior Eligibilty Card (complete application)
People with Disabilities
To qualify for a disabled reduced fare permit, riders must complete a Metro eligibility application. Applications must be completed by a physician or a registered nurse, or riders must supply a copy of their Medicare card. Forward Health cards are not an acceptable form of proof.
After applications are received and processed, staff will issue a Disabled Reduced Fare Card for proof of eligibility
